You have provided a "new math" problem, which will soon be in the curriculum of every 5th grader in the United States:

Assuming your parents buy 75 shares of CMTN at 122.50 in July 2000, how many shares will they have to buy at $1.08 in order to "dollar cost average" enough to make money when the stock hits $1.50 in July 2003?

And for the theoretical side of things, subsection (b)of this question (for the gifted students), assuming that the stock does not hit $1.50 until July 2005, how much money will be available in your college fund when you reach 18, assuming an annual return between July 2000 and July 2007 of -4%.

never very good with numbers,
