while ya be awaiting for $19....here are some comments about gold, the increase of the money supply and the stock market and some ending comments from brother aurophile.

it will be interesting to see if the massive inflation of the money supply over the past few
days (and set to continue in coming days, from what one hears) will be able to arrest the
deflation. as i've mentioned before, keep an eye on the gold price. if the recent rally can be
extended, and gold goes above 350 and STAYS there, the Fed can declare victory and the
deflation monster will likely have been at least severely wounded, if probably not yet slain
for good.
such a gold rally will also be an early advance warning of an impending rally in the stock
market, thus it is important to watch even for those not interested in the gold market per se.

ironic. this is what i've been writing for years while all the goldbugs turned into
deflationists.
