I think Desert Storm is probably the cleanest war we have ever fought.

Of course it was. A brilliant war, one of the most brilliant in history, yet Bush has been roundly criticized by the liberals for it. Perfectly executed in all respects, far and away the fewest civilian casualties ever incurred in a war of this scale, and totally successful in accomplishing its objective (which was to limit Iraq's ability to make war). In fact, had Clinton not allowed our inspectors to be kicked out we would still be in control of the situation in Iraq.

I would argue that Vietnam was much more public, however. Every day on the evening news we had video from the foxholes. The Bush Administration understood the importance of controlling the idiot news media and did a great job of it.

If we have learned anything from the conflicts of our time, it is that if you have to have a war, be sure you've got a strong conservative running the show...
