Saturn,

The War Against Terrorism is an absolute must. No, it's not. Some revenge and some defense is an option.

It will be worse than Vietnam ! Vietnam was very bad.

In the short term, all that we can achieve is to invade Afghanistan, install a new government, which will prevent Afghanistan from being a sanctuary for terrorists. No, we can't.

Flushing out the terrorists dispersed all over the Mid East will be a long drawn out war, like the Drug War. I hope that we have better success.

We will probably capture a few terrorists, make some great headlines. Spend about $15 million per terrorist we capture. There will be no terrorist attacks on US soil for six or seven years, which there probably wouldn't have been anyway. Bush will claim victory, we won his "war".

Either that, or we start a real middle east war. That would be the real tragedy. Prosperity is very fragile.

John
