Excellent post. No matter how culpable or not our nation's actions may be, we are not the root cause of the problem, and to suggest that we are is "morally appalling". Dictatorships of all kinds, religious and ideological, are murderous. Period. They primarily murder those under their direct control, their own populations. They are murderous as a matter of deliberate policy. They'll murder anyone else as convenient, but mainly their targets are within their own borders. That's not exactly the case in the United States.
