I know exactly why people hate me.
Blaming the US for the attack on the World Trade Center is bullshit. The people who say it are either deliberately misrepresenting history, or else don't know what they are talking about.
Blaming religion for the attack on the World Trade Center is bullshit, too. It has nothing to do with religion, and everything to do with the drive for power.
So far on SI, I've seen the US blamed for the Crusades, I've seen Israel blamed for starting the 1948 War, I've seen the US blamed for the bombing of Dresden (sorry, guys, it was the Brits - but I don't blame them one iota - does the name Coventry mean anything to you? didn't think so)(if it hadn't been for the Brits and the Yanks, we'd all be speaking German), I've seen Israel blamed for the 1948 war.
It's all so cozy for them to to sit in their armchairs and opine about things when they have no idea what they are talking about, and it's not at all pleasant to have someone say, "you're just plain wrong about the facts, and about the conclusions you draw from the facts."
Everybody learns about Dresden, nobody learns about V-1, V-2, Coventry. Why is that?
Everybody learns about Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Nobody learns about the Bataan Death March. Why is that?
Everybody knows what the Europeans did in the Crusades. Nobody learns what the nations of Islam did to Europeans. Why is that?
Everybody learns what the Israelis did to the Arabs. Nobody learns what the Arabs did to the Jews. Why is that?
My answer, if you are interested, is that they envy us, and hate us, and want us to hate ourselves.
I went to college with Latin American graduate students who learned at home to sneer at America because we were on the wrong side of history. Europeans, same argument. We have a name for them, "Eurotrash."
When the Soviet Union collapsed, they didn't give up their cherished ideals. They are rooting for the US to be thrown on the ash heap of history, for the US bastards to be lined up and shot.
I am proud to be an American. I voted for Reagan, I voted for Bush, Sr., I voted for Dole, I voted for Dubya, and I've never voted for a Democrat in my life. I wouldn't pee on a Democrat if he was on fire.
That's why they hate me. Because I don't hate myself. Because I am proud of who I am. Because I believe in free speech, and free will, and personal responsibility, and the Red, White and Blue.
Because I wouldn't pee on them if they were on fire.
Or maybe it's because I am a witch, with a "b." Who knows? Who cares?
