Hello, Lorne. Yes, I've seen the purported Bloomberg story of shorting in financials, 2 airlines, and some travel industry stocks prior to last Tues. The version I heard was that "said shorting occured in London, not here."
And I heard some official mouthpiece from our SEC deny later this afternoon on CNBC that it "could have not possibly happened here, because when shorting occurs, they (SEC) can get their hands on who is doing it within minutes, but that SEC counterparts in London and other large markets could take a little longer to investigate those types of shortings, which he doubted had occured."

So, stories and denials...ever feel like you're watching a ping-pong match?

G'night.
