Even when the economy picks up rehiring will be slow.
Corporations are also realizing that they can do more with less employees, less travel, and less of a lot. This is all going to be healthy in the long run. We can all focus on really building productivity. Milliken is right when he says each employee is worth $500k-$5m for a well run corporation.
By the by, I still think your almamatter IBM is the best company.
