The closest I come to a "flirtation with oil" is my remnant BLDP and the BBD.b holding (trains, planes, seadoos, skidoos, small boats, and those little utility vehicles). I don't have any oil stocks. BLDP price moves with price of oil.

An argument can be made, given the tragedy of the last week and the way the response might play out, that investing in northern Canadian oil companies is a hedge against mideast oil being cut off. Premature? Too speculative/paranoid for my taste, but not illogical.

As long as Jay has been closing out those takeover positions and not doubling up on the remainder, he should be in a good cash position by now even if the takeover fever in Alberta abates instantly.
