LJ - I think you're painting too simple a picture. All world leaders are telling Bush to be extremely cautious - even Blair will convey that message tomorrow. Even Bush senior has spoken out, obliquely, against 'unilateralism'.
The was is against terrorism, and it will be a test of this President's leadership to let the public down gently and help them focus on this reality. At the moment it looks as if he is looking in the mirror and saying 'gee, you really are President after all'. Everyone is telling him to act - but he has a far more difficult task - to lead and level with the people.

An if you were a nation and an outsider asked you to extradite someone from your country, wouldn't you ask for proof first? And wouldn't you at least want to hold a judicial enquiry of some kind?

So is the U.S. becoming a rogue state when in comes to International Law. It seemed so even before 9/11

So while this process is going on and the US bombs anyway we're getting into a holy war - which cannot be won. And the American people will become sickened by the carnage abroad.

Two members of Congress voted against the Tonkin Resolution which expande the Vietman War. One Congresswoman voted against this one. When profiles in courage are written we should remember the dissenters.
