UF: also recommended depressurizing the airplane cabin and going into steep dives, climbs or banks to disable attackers.

Innocent Folks suffer from panic and fear in heavy turbulence. Now they are going to put the plane into steep dives and turns? Depressurizing the Cabin poses some problems.. The beginning signs of Hypoxia (not necessarily unconsciousness) can take over twenty minutes to take effect at 15,000 feet, 5-8 minutes at 20,000 feet, 1-3 minutes at 25,000feet, and almost instantly at 30,000 feet. If the plane is hijacked just after take off.. Then it would take several minutes to climb to a effective altitude. Seems in a hijacking, you would want to get the plan on the ground.. Not take it further up!! And Hypoxia can cause a whole host of short term/ long term health problems. Seems that a simple "mechanical valve" in the cockpit that a pilot has to physically turn to distribute "sleeping gas" into the rear passenger compartment is the way to go. Since the cockpit already has it own separate Oxygen system.. Along with much more sophisticated Oxygen Masks such as those produced by InterTechnique of France, that provide complete protection/isolation to the eyes and oral regions.

Sleeping Gas is the cheapest, easiest, safest, way to go!
