I thought the market ALWAYS traded on emotion. I thought they banned trading on fundamentals a few years ago, at the same time they ushered in the New Economy Pro Forma Reporting Method.

They just added one reason to own stocks:

1. patriotism

but previously they had these reasons

2. train's leaving the station
3. this baby's gonna be a rocket
4. buy this and you will be eating bear meat
5. not including write downs, operating losses, acquisition costs, executive stock options, investment losses, and embezzlement, this company exceeded expectations on every front
6. company handily beat thrice lowered expectations
7. company's deferred income produced a rise in revenue, thus beating revenue expectations (Microsoft's game)
8. shoe shine boy in stocks, don't YOU miss out
9. new economy will create trillions in new profits, so buy at any price
10. THAT was the friggin' bottom, buy before it's too late!!!
