Ezenia! InfoWorkSpace(TM) Brings New Collaborative Capability to US Pacific
Command Exercise COBRA GOLD

Collaboration Product Receives Rave Reviews for Successful Data Conferencing
during this Annual Thailand-US Exercise

BURLINGTON, Mass., June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Ezenia! Inc. (Nasdaq: EZEN), a
leading provider of real-time collaboration solutions for corporate networks
and eBusinesses, today announced that its InfoWorkSpace(TM) product has
successfully supported another major military exercise with data, audio, and
video conferencing. InfoWorkSpace supported US Forces during COBRA GOLD 2001
in Thailand and Hawaii.
InfoWorkSpace, a fully integrated data, video, and audio conferencing
system, was deployed in support of I CORPS, US Pacific Command through the
Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Joint Collaborative Environment (JCE)
program. General Dynamics Electronic Systems is the integrator for
InfoWorkSpace within the DIA.
SAIC (Science Applications International Corp.) provided coordination and
engineering support, integrating InfoWorkSpace within the I Corps systems
architecture through the Long Range Information Networked Communications
Services (LINCS) III initiative.
In January 2001, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Command, Control,
Communications, and Intelligence (ASDC3I) recognized InfoWorkSpace as the only
commercially available, bundled collaboration package meeting all warfighter
functional and interoperability requirements.
"InfoWorkSpace was a hit during Cobra Gold 2001," said Harry Newman, JCE
Program Manager for General Dynamics Electronic Systems "Soldiers and
analysts have reported to us that they used it constantly to provide all types
of Web-based conferencing in support of multiple missions and activities.
InfoWorkSpace worked well and widened the collaborative community from the
more traditional, non Web-based, video conferencing systems. Intelligence
analysts were able to collaborate in real-time and overcome geographic
boundaries."
Cobra Gold 2000 is a U.S. and Thai exercise involving approximately 13,000
U.S. Forces. Its purpose is to improve combat readiness and interoperability,
enhance security relationships and demonstrate the United States' resolve to
support security and humanitarian interests of friends and allies in the
region. The exercise is designed to ensure regional peace and strengthen the
ability of the Royal Thai Armed Forces to defend Thailand and respond to
regional contingencies.
"Cobra Gold is an exercise that requires real-time collaboration to be
successful," said Colonel Custer, Senior Intelligence Officer for the US Army
I Corps. "InfoWorkSpace proved to be a stable and user-friendly system that
enabled our people to work together regardless of physical location.
InfoWorkSpace is a big success."
