IQBAL, I am one of the many lurkers who are greatly
benefitting from your posts and market experience.
Please continue to enlighten us with your views and
opinions about the upcoming market direction. You may
remember that I bought some short term calls on the
Monday before the last Fed meeting (June 170's) and when
rates did not go up I did quite well. I have been
waiting for this next meeting to employ the same
strategy. Don't you agree that with Intel's announced
earnings shortcomings taking the pressure off of meeting
the whisper # that if the now they do report $2.00 or
more this will be viewed by the street as a big
positive. Or do you think that this is already priced
in and a new whisper # will materialize? I am planning
again to purchase some far out of the $$ calls on INTC
on Mon or Tues (July 1st), probably whatever I can get
at approximately $1.50 per contract August calls so
after the split the cost will be .75 per con. This
seems to me to be an excellent opportunity for a quick
triple-plus with the Fed meeting(no rate hike), Intel's
earnings report with an upside surprise and then the
split on the 13th. What is your opinion of this
upcoming trade and what would you do differently??
Closer to the $$ strike price, wait until after the Fed
meeting or INTC's earnings or something else I havn't
thought of. I am thinking that I will have to go about
15 out of the money to reach my 1.50 contract price.
Your Idea of the day thread and this one are the first
two I check daily and I regard your opinion with the
utmost respect. Steve W.
