Haim, re. Pakistan, a friend of mine has visited the country very recently, and reported back to me that the government in Islamabad has very little power within the country. most people regard it cynically as a completely corrupted entity that does not represent them at all.
if Pakistan is used as the base for an invasion of Afghanistan, there is a very real possibility that the country will be destabilized further internally and that civil war breaks out. this would be extremely dangerous, as Pakistan is a nuclear power.
