When I was a little girl I used to think you could get anyone to like you or get along with you. I was wrong. The people I was most wrong about were the ones you would think would be easiest to win over. My brothers had a favorite sport ... their favorite sport was beating the crap out of me! The only way I found to achieve some level of understanding with them was to get somebody bigger to beat them up worse than they beat me up. So I enlisted the help of my father. That worked for a while but after a little time they would start to work up the nerve to beat me up again. I put my clever little mind to work and thought how can I keep them from ever beating me up again? Every time they would start to approach me I would take off my glasses and threaten to throw them on the floor and break them and blame it on them (the morons didn't realize the glasses were made of plastic and therefore unbreakable!). They knew how much my father hated to spend money unnecessarily (which he would have to do to replace my broken glasses) and considered this a serious threat to their safety. Who knew you could scare a bully with something like that.

Lola:)
