Since Sept. 11,

Major airline stocks down 25-38%:

Southwest (LUV): –25%
American (AMR): -33%
United (UAL): -38%

Major hotel stocks down: 27-35%:

Marriott (MAR): -27%
Starwood (HOT): -32%
Hilton (HLT): -35%

Major Internet travel services stocks:

Expedia (EXPE): -39%
Travelocity (TVLY): -41%

However, Priceline has lost 60% of its value since Sept. 11.

One should notice that airline ticket is only part of the ways of travel. Many travelers use cars, and they also need rental cars and stay in hotel. Airline ticketing is only part of PCLN businesses (50% - 60%?). They also book hotels and rental cars, sell new automobiles and mortgages/refinance.

Does this present a buying opportunity for the stock?
