I created a fictitious portfolio back on March 23, 2000 .. the day the markets reached their peak .. and have been tracking the following stocks since then. The results as of today are as follows:
AOL -56.3%, CSCO -82.7%, GE -39.1%, IBM -16.7% (the best of the lot), JDSU -95.8%, LU -90.9%, MOT -71.4%, MSFT -51.8%, NOK -70.8%, NT -92.7%, ORCL -74.2%, QCOM -68.8%, SUNW -81.4% and YHOO -94.7%
GE and IBM have been the only two companies in the bunch that have risen above what was their closing price back on March 23, 2000, however, they haven't been able to stay up there. |
