I don't know much about Seabridge's properties, but this is exactly the approach I've been promoting. They have a slide show that is a must for anybody looking for a down and dirty about this market.

My own bet on this kind of approach is National Gold (NGT). The money is being raised (including mine with 750,000 private placement shares now, and also quite a who's who of backers is emerging), and right now you can get in at true insider prices (below 20). There will be no problem taking care of PDG payments over the next few months. I know the game plan here, and watch it unfold.

The other variation on this theme is the Buffet approach, where someone takes an "influencing" 10-15% stake (mostly though placements) in several companies. It could be done in a region (say Mexico, which I feel will be a real story in this decade), or a global approach. Not too much of this yet, but it's sort of my approach on a smaller scale (3-5% stakes). If I had the money, or could find a mechanism to attract and bring in other serious investors, I'd like to engage in the Buffet approach myself, and have already explored the idea. Tough to execute because you have cross border securities laws (one year holds for Americans) and red tape (barriers to capital flow). I'm amazed it's not going on much more?
