Per, Bob and all

I've scaled two maps and arrived fairly close with both. First, Per, I believe that 100ø52' is still in Kansas, Dorothy. The East boundary line of Colorado appears to be slightly west of the 102ø Meridian. In my guesstimated opinion, I believe T-16-S, R-42-W of the Sixth Principal Meridian to be on or very near the Kansas/Colorado border. My best guess is slightly north of the town of Towner, Colorado. If it's not on your map of Colorado, draw a straight line between Cheyenne Wells, Colo, and Tribune, Kansas. Where this line intersects the Colo/Kansas border is approximately Towner, Colo.

Tomorrow, I will attempt to find a map book with all of this info.

Per, How did you calculate 100ø52'? The only way I could think of would be to convert from Lat/Long to UTM coords, then traverse the South and West Legs-then convert back from UTM to Lat/Long. I haven't done it yet because there are maps in the U.S. of each county, complete with Rectangular Survey information. Very interesting!

Enjoyed this, but if those calls (T16S etc) are tampered with, we could be 200 miles off???

thanks,

alan w
