Richard, I waited all weekend for your part 2 and now you have a part 3 coming (ggg). Everything that you pointed out is shared by me. I
am not pleased that the first time we are being made aware of some of the details is in the annual report.
I also was shocked at the expense of the NY office and its size as compared to the total size of all the facilities in Lousiana.
There are plenty of companies with massive tax loss to carry forward. This does not make O.L.D. (our little dog) an attractive takeover candidate.
You mentioned that you intended on asking Gary about the price of the Kazakhstan deal, please also ask him why the company did not report the price. I am also interested in learning if asphalt production or Phase I as they labeled it has actually began or OLD has again decided to change strategy. Did OLD receive any CASH from Gold Star as a result of winning the lawsuit? Why, as if we can't figure it out, did OLD decide to get a partner for the refinery and is there one that is about to be announced?
Richard, this is just Phase I. The numbers from the annual report deserve some scrutiny. I'd be happy to call Gary regarding the financials after opening them up for discussion here.
