we do not belong in the middle east. The middle east just happens to be the source of the majority of oil in the world. The US is the largest comsumer of oil and has proven its vulnerability to oil shocks (remember the 70's?). Yet, "we do not belong in the middle east", according to Pat. Amazingly, some people pay heed to such foolish drivel. The US had no interests in Rwanda and it did nothing, even though genocide was taking place. Pretty much everywhere else that the US is involved it has strategic interests, including the balkans (WW I started there, in case you have forgotten).
