Was that before or after we threw Japanese Americans in the detention camps? Every one has to have a slogan. For freedom, for god, whatever captures the attention of the people.

You seem to be a binary person. It's not either we saved Europe or we had nothing to do with it. The collection of all participating countries won the war. And a bit of luck.

IMO, if the Japanese had waited two or three years for Pearl Harbor, I think the odds are that you and I would be typing in German.

And sinking German subs (an act of war by itself, which undoubtedly contributed to Hitler's declaration of war on the US after Pearl Harbor) before US entry do nothing?

The pact between Japan and Germany had a lot to do with Germany declaring war on the US after Pearl Harbor.
