Ratan,
The author of that article from the London Independent, Robert Fisk, wrote possibly the best history of the Lebanese conflict "Pity The Nation". It is out of print according to Amazon, however anybody interested in the Middle East should find a used copy.

I see that eight copies are required by Amazon clients at present.

One of the few books that gives a lasting impression of the brutality of war.
