Mr. Bard from Georgia: What union were you in? If you left the union and still reap benefits of collective bargaining, then you are a freerider. You contribute nothing but still expect others to represent you in bargaining talks. When I was involved in bargaining talks, the most concerned with what was happening were always the freeriders. They would always ask the most questions. Yes, when I say my prayers every night, I thank God that I live in America and that the AFL-CIO is looking out for my best interests. Re: "Do your union leaders tell you how to vote? ... They expect you to vote Democratic." I hope so! The Democratic Party looks out for the interests of the American working man and working woman; the Republican Party looks out for the interests of Big Business and fat cats who play golf. So why in the world would I vote Republican? So that a handful of corporate execs can raid my pension plan and enrich their personal fortunes?! (True story.) That's a no-brainer, ain't it? Re: "Your statement proves you have been brainwashed ..." You're probably right. On serious matters, I just let my union bosses do my thinking for me.
