I shudder what to think would be happening if Gore was in there right now.

Sick!, most likely Gore would not have abandoned the Middle East and so we would be wondering if we should give 40 billion to Palestine to ensure the peace or something instead of hundreds of billions and 6000 lives by ignoring the problem. Nobody could predict what the future brings, but it's hard to imagine it being much worse.
