Don't know if you'll exactly need a "change in econ stats over period of months" to get at least some price recovery -including a bounce from a technically oversold condition, as well as a longer-term stabilization at whatever level, and eventual rally looking forward, as ever, to some more readily demonstrable economic recovery. In the meantime, I suppose we can take some comfort in the idea that the lower the bottom and the faster it's reached, the more time and space there will be for any rally to make market participants feel like they're back in a bull market. Indeed, for trading and speculative purposes, this climactic washout may offer much more opportunity than a meek, listless recovery might have.

It's a thought, anyway.
