, i'm not a moral relativist. i didn't use the US example to justify the arab actions. they are both wrong
Yes, you are. Saying that I cannot criticize the PA's censorship because some things are supposedly 'suppressed' here (though I don't know what you're talking about and I wonder if you do) is a false equivalence, which is a form of moral relativism. Using the U.S's supposed 'sins' to prevent me criticizing the Palestinians celebrations of last week's terrorist attacks is moral relativism.
i think it is moral relativism to b* about arab sins and ignore christian / american / etc
Our topic of conversation was the terrorist attacks of September 11 and the celebrations of them that took place in the Arab world, particularly in the West Bank and Gaza. So please tell me, what Christian/American 'sins' have I been ignoring?
nadine, if americans are so STUPID to hate all american arabs for the actions of a few then americans are really idiots
Agreed. However, you have continually made excuses for the Palestinians hating the Jews and approving, by a large majority, of the use of suicide bombers against Israeli civilians, due to their 'natural feelings'. I was just pointing out that in your book sauce for the goose is not sauce for the gander, apparently. In my book, nobody gets a free license for terror. Is it any wonder that people who approve the Sbarro pizzaria bombing also approve the WTC bombing? What's the difference, besides scale?
the palestinians had something taken from them and they know who did it and who still benefits
Yes, the educated ones know that they fled, or were invited to leave Palestine by their Arab leaders while the Jews were being driven into the sea, then they prevented from resettling anywhere else except Jordan. Most of the rest know the propaganda they've been force-fed for fifty years about their stolen 'country', Palestine (a country that never existed before 1948).
When India and Pakistan partitioned, 14 million refugees were created. None of them are still in 'refugee camps'. When Israel was created, 500,000 Jewish refugees from Arab lands fled to Israel. None of them are still in 'refugee camps'. Don't you see how anomalous the position of the Palestinian refugees is? Don't you see how they've been manipulated for political purposes as a weapon against Israel? Why do you repeat the simpleminded claim that 'the Jews stole their land, they know who did it'. That's propaganda, not fact. The Jews didn't start the war in 1948.
The Palestinians are in pretty f---ed up circumstances, alright, and they were put there by their Arab brothers and their own pathetic excuse for leadership.
Though Israel must assume responsibility for its behavior in the territories since 1967, the intransigence of the Arab countries and the terrorism of the PLO must also be considered. The Palestinians can't get over anything while they are ruled by corrupt thugs who have dragged them into a idiotic terrorist war, when they might have had a legitimate state. |
