TP:
I am not from Texas, I actually grew up in CA, I have just been a resident of TX. Currently, the State government is preferable to that of California. The electricity works in other states, all of the time. But I can trade the good weather in CA, for the utilities!

I made a list of what is good about Texas.
They have Tex Mex, the cost of living is good, and Dell is in Texas.

I am unfamiliar with the Public schools, or the specifics.
Texas was one of the best States for prospective teachers when I was in School. The schools often do not retain the qualified teachers. Other industries actively recruit teachers, and it is good experience for a career elsewhere. That is sad! The pay across the board, nationally, is a problem for teachers, but that happened before Bush. I can understand that you are worried for your children. That concerns me too, and school in general is an issue with which I will get to contend.

I think the problems are national and Bush inherited a lot of problems, from Clinton.

I do not want to be cynical, because that never helps. I am very happy with the job that Bush is doing. This time is not easy for anyone. I do not think that Al Gore was the solution!
