Hi TM: my reading of his talk is quite the other direction - it's not as gung-ho as I feared it would be and it shows the falcons in his neigbourhood did not prevail. It will be a long affair and Afganistan just one of its milestones. And W seems to understand and accept that. I feel he did a good selling job but its up to America to buy. - re Afganistan milestone: I hope as anybody else it does not turn into a Nam-like tombstone. That would be a defeat and a desaster - not just for US, but for Afgani civilians as well, and eventually for everyone of us. dj
