Intel to spend $302 mln to boost China chip plant
SHANGHAI, Sept 21 (Reuters) - Intel Corp (NasdaqNM:INTC - news) will spend $302 million on expanding the capacity of mits chip assembly and testing plant in Shanghai, the world's leading chip maker said in a statement seen by Reuters on Friday.

The investment would be used for validation, testing and assembly of the new Intel 845 chipset for the Pentium 4 processor, the statement said.

The chip plant was set up in 1998 to assemble and test flash chips at a cost of $198 million.
