Thu 20 Sept 2001 News Release
Mr. Toby Chu reports
SE Global Equities business activities have progressed, as the company
continues to aggressively enter new markets and bring sophisticated trading
tools to securities firms, asset and portfolio management companies, fund
managers, and professional investors around the globe. Using SE Global's
direct-access trading platform, SE Global Trade, brokerage firms are able
to offer their clients direct trade routing to market-makers, ECNs and U.S.
stock exchanges, allowing for almost instantaneous trade execution and
confirmation.
Recent corporate developments include:
Enhanced software features
Effective Aug. 10, 2001, options trading is now available as a feature on
the SE Global Trade platform. SE Global is currently creating a Chinese
language interface, and is planning to convert the trading platform to
additional languages including German, Korean, Japanese and French.
Additionally, SE Global is pursuing plans to develop a single universal
platform to trade equities, futures and options.
Europe
SE Global is pursuing the enhancement of SE Global Trade to enable clients
to trade securities on selected European exchanges. The objective is to
permit clients to open Euro-denominated accounts at SE Global's subsidiary,
Global-American Investments Inc. (GAI), and trade securities using a
platform identical to the existing product serving the U.S. markets.
Potential customers for this product include European banks, brokers and
institutional investors. Additionally, two securities firms in Europe have
agreed to enter into a foreign associate agreement with GAI, which would
enable them to introduce offshore custodial accounts directly to GAI.
Japan
A Japan-based day trading school has reached an agreement to offer SE
Global Trade software in its training schools. In addition, SE Global is in
negotiations to offer an intermediate level Web-based trading platform,
which integrates U.S. stock charts and Japanese language features.
Hong Kong
Several securities firms in Hong Kong have started using SE Global Trade as
their U.S. securities trading platform. Furthermore, SE Global has signed a
joint marketing agreement with several Hong Kong securities firms to market
the company's U.S. direct-access trading platform to local clients.
South America and Middle East
Several leading South American and Middle Eastern firms have agreed to
transfer their active clients to the SE Global Trade platform and/or open
new accounts with GAI.
"Our expanding alliance network enables us to penetrate the existing client
base of overseas securities firms in multiple markets," said SE Global
president Toby Chu. "The benefits to SE Global are reduced market entry
costs, dramatically minimized marketing expenses and the ability to
leverage the existing brand recognition and reputation of locally based
securities firms around the globe."
WARNING: The company relies upon litigation protection for
"forward-looking" statements.
