Canada's Prime Minister, its External affairs minister and other public officials, have publicly said Canadians can expect to lose lives assisting United States in its antiterrorist efforts and as far as anyone can tell the public supports that view. In Canada there have been long lineups to donate blood for delivery to the U.S. Huge crowds of thousands of people have shown up for memorials all across the land. The whole country feels tremendously for United States and is anxious to help, yet the President does not mention Canada as a friend in last night's speech.
