Joe,

I understand your concern, but let me help you think of this differently. What if I told you that over the last 2 years there were way over 100 plots for terrorism STOPPED in this country, and crisis averted? Would that make you feel better? It does me. Airline security is NOT the issue here. These clowns that did this have been in our country for over 2 years planning that particular event. The airlines (as well as the rest of our industries) have been, and are, heading for a crisis situation way before last weeks events happened. If you want to blame someone, blame our border patrol for lax security. You are placing blame in the wrong direction.
The government SHOULD shield the airlines, or anyone for wrongful death suits. Any lawyer that makes a penny off this tradgedy should be shot along with the Taliban leaders.
Do you realize that we would spend LESS money shielding to prevent these suits than if these suits would come to a head? If you are really concerned about where you tax dollars are going, I suggest you write your congressman/woman, and tell them that you don't want our country blowing its wad overseas to prop up failing economy's that have no books, and no direction. The money we spend helping our own country will be a pittance compared to the massive amounts of money we have and continue to waste in foreign countries.

John
