Last night, Bush had a more difficult circumstance than FDR had delivering his famous 'day of infamy' speech after Pearl Harbor... when FDR delivered his speech, he was addressing a people who felt secure in the fact the war was going to be fought 'over there' and not here on our soil... for the first time in our country's history our President was addressing a people who felt vulnerable and unsure, and witnessed the attack upon us on television... that difference required extreme caution without showing any hesitation... even the very same words Bush spoke could easily have been delivered with doubt and uncertainty, but he delivered a wonderful and powerful speech with the steel and strength required of him to make that speech come to life... he did that very well, and to hell with his critics.....
