I've read quite a few books on it. It is not CENTRAL to it (at least as far as I read), but they do have shamanistic purifying rituals to help you shed your karmic baggage. Perhaps that's the same thing. Anyhow, the Christian idea of very powerful demonic entities causing world harm isn't an important part of any of what I've read. They rarely talk about "evil" in the literature I've read.

I think if you were to ask the Dalai Lama about this act and OBL, he'd say he isn't in touch with his Buddha nature and is unevolved, trapped in a descending karmic spiral or some such characterization. At least that is my guess.
