Thanks yourself, Greg<g>....I have not been a Unitarian, but I have had friends who have been congregants, if that is the right word. As I understand it, Unitarians believe that all religions are substantially the same, just different paths of spirituality, and that their differences are inessential. I agree, that is mistaken. There are features of religion and piety, especially in civilized cultures, which are similar, but one cannot trivialize the differences. It is like the irritating Libertarian habit of lumping everything not "just- short- of- anarchism" as "statism", as if there are not profound differences between Newt Gingrich and Josef Stalin.

On the other hand, there are times when one wants to emphasize cross- cultural or inter- religious truth, in order to establish common ground for dialogue. As long as it is not too mushy, I approve of that.......
