Will 2002 will be a hybernation year? Judging by the word put out by many companies, in the year 2002 nothing is going to happen: So says, GE, ERICY, Siemens and NOK. Everything that is going to happen will happen AFTER 2002.

A month ago no one had visibility. Today everyone has visibility. And they can see though four quarters.

But wait moment! People will eat, get married, drink, smoke, buy and sell, babies will be born, surf the Internet, sue each other etc. The world will not be hybernating for a year to wake up in 2002.

DO they mean that all those companies have inventories that will carry them through 2002? I doubt.

Lets say the airlines, and aircraftmakers, mobile infrastructure and capital goods will lay dormant.

Then we have the whole services industry. Obviously health care will not be affected at all. How about entertainment? People will be very much idle during the hybernation year of 2002 if it happens as the captains of industry are saying.

This story of this hybernation year is not very well told. Please lets see if we get some discussion around that.

(I am back posting because the religious fervor has subsidized)
