I accept your and Dale's conclusion that "cowardice" in the true sense is inappropriate. But this phenomen of "soldiers" begging for mercy at the first confrontation is very significant in estimating out current situation. Its the achilles heel of the thug governments and terrorists. They don't have the committment of the populace. The populace is scared,impoverished,ignorant (yes, ignorant but this is not meant as a emotional , racist remark. They are truly ignorant.) If you take out the nation-state sponsor, the terrorist will wither away. HH
