But the real issue here is why are you jumping on my comments? I have not said anything that has not been said before...our military has had far from a clean slate in the past and its common knowledge.

There is this incredible effort to distance us from the terrorists but there have been some very ugly incidents in our past as well. And I think its important to remember that in these times where are going into battle again. Eventually this conflict will end and its in our best interest to carry ourselves as well as possible under the circumstances.

Ted, our military has done some awful things in the past but I think it is important to distinguish between deliberate polices of many years ago, isolated incidents that do not reflect deliberate policy and are not part of our national policy or plans in the more recent past, and current and continuing deliberate policy of terror and targeting civilians. I don't think you should white wash the bad that our military and our government has done but it is also wrong to argue moral equivalence saying that everyone is bad. I think that there is a clear moral difference between the US military and Al-Qaida. Yes the real world isn't just made up of the deepest darkest black and brightest shining white, but not everything this a dull drab gray.

I went out and missed it. I heard it was very inspiring...so much so, that they expected it to make the markets rally. Not so far but I keep hoping. <g>

The problem is things were bad even without the attacks. The terrorists, in addition to all the other destruction they caused, kicked the markets when they where down, both in points and in spirit.
