I am curious. I've been talking to a lot of people today, specifically about the following statements President Bush made last night:

They will hand over the terrorists, or they will share in their fate.

This war...

Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists.

From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime.

Perhaps we might have an informal poll here. From where I stand and from what I have heard out of the Administration since September 11, this language appears to signal that any State which harbors, sponsors, aids, or abets terrorists will be treated as terrorists. The President has declared war on terrorists. Does this mean that the United States will formally declare war on all States which provide safe haven and support for terrorists? If so, how? One by one or all at once? And further, what will the objective be? Overthrowing regimes? Occupation? Establishing interim governments under the auspices of the UN?

I'm very interested in all of your views on this.
