Box I purchased back in April of this year was a Dell Precision 220 workstation configured with a Matrox G200 MMS 4 port video card that supports either 4 CRT monitors or 4 LCD screens. I run it with four Dell 1701FP 17" LCD monitors, using optional cables purchased thru Matrox that allow me to run them in digital (DVI) mode. At the time I bought, Dell offered a P4 workstation, (single processor only, whereas the Precision 220 offered a dual CPU option). I recall there was some type of motherboard problem with the initial P4 chipset that did not allow the use of 4 monitors. I checked the current Dell workstation offerings, all are now either P4 or Xeon, and NONE offer the 4 port Matrox card, at least via the web. Last time I checked, Compaq was still offering the option of the Matrox card for at least one model workstation on their website. IBM - they won't even talk to you unless you want to buy 500 configured with this card <ggg>. They did offer an intriguing workstation configured with the Matrox card as I recall a couple months ago, it was a slim rack mount unit only a couple inches high meant for the financial industry. Looked similar to a thin rack mount server. Cost was around $3500 as I recall, and I don't know if it is still available. You could check on their website. Not sure why Dell is no longer offering the 4 port option. Maybe all the stock market jockeys buying them got wiped out. Let me know if you have more questions...
