Yes, I know. That was too bullish. EVERY pc maker was guiding lower. It was obvious the estimates MSFT was using were too high. Worldwide estimates for pc sales were then lowered BEFORE the wtc incident. It's even worse now.

MSFT can go down by itself with most other stocks in nasdaq flat and the index will go significantly lower. It's 10-12% of the index.

If fund flows remain negative, I think msft will be used as a source of funds. I've said it since msft was in the mid 70's but no one wanted to believe it. At least my neighbor was smart enough to sell it then after learning how low a stock can go. He's still holding jdsu and nt hoping they will go back up, but instead they just are slipping down the slope of hope.
