". I have this feeling people will for go vacations and other high cost forms of entertainment and buy "consumer goods" for use in their home towns." You know, it would not surprise me if people said to themselves -- I am not going to by my friend/lover/wife a gadget for Christmas -- this year I am going to go "sentimental" and buy jewelry (keep in mind that I just made that up). But that could very well be a good marketing approach and it just might work. How about a special ebay promotion for people in the military who are far from their loved ones? <vbg>.
