The origin of this particular thread was why they [the Taliban] hate us.
The Taliban hates us because we haven't impeached GWB?
ROTFLMAO!!!
Oh, come now, jttmab. Should we have impeached Clinton then? Because they hated us then too.

It took me a while to figure out why you even said this. Impeach George W. Bush is a subject in SI parlance. The thread is the topic of the first post within the subject.

"True, winning involved many nations. However, has the US decided that it would simply trust to the Atlantic Ocean
for its defense, there is a very good probability that Hitler could have defeated the Russians or forced them to
terms and done the same to the British. Would we be speaking German? Maybe. Probably not."

I saw that post after I had written the earlier response. I agree with everything up to "Maybe". My ending to the paragraph might have been. Probably. Maybe Not.. I'm not going to put in any energy into debating the differences there. It's a shruggable difference of opinion.

Re: the remaining items that you didn't think I addressed. I actually did....The origin of this particular thread was why they [the Taliban] hate us. it wasn't whether we were right or wrong or it was fair. I have a better chance of convincing Dave Ellen that the 2nd amendment, the right to bear arms was about short sleeve shirts, than I do of convincing the Taliban that starving Iraq children was fair.

I can make a parallel observation on the conservative's view of Clinton. Clinton was so despised that everything he did was interpreted as evil. Nothing was evaluated on its merit, the neuron effort was devoted to how it was evil. There weren't a lot of conservatives that I recall that gave any compliments to the Clinton Administration when he sent some cruises at Taliban training camps or the Sudanese phramaceutical plant in which there were intelligence reports that it was a dual use facility.
