compaq is taking over Tandem at 0.21 x Compaq's price. At today's prices, that is 0.21 * $105 = $22. however, at the end of summer, compaq should go up in value, taking Tandem up with it.

inspite of all that, I think Tandem management chickened out. When I
bought the stock at 12 7/8, I valued it at around $30. Compaq got
a bargain.
