ADTN) announced today that U S WEST has awarded substantial digital channel
unit business to ADTRAN. ADTRAN offers a broad line of digital channel units,
transforming the existing network of copper wires into high-speed digital
networks.
Under the agreement, ADTRAN will provide products supporting U S WEST's
demands for digital channel units. ADTRAN's digital channel units bring new
life to the copper networks by enabling economic, efficient deployment of
digital services. ADTRAN designs, develops and manufactures a broad line of
channel units, range extension devices and network termination devices for
digital service providers.
ADTRAN's products will be used by U S WEST to deploy Switched 56, DDS and
ISDN services to customers needing high-speed connectivity for applications
such as Frame Relay networking, remote to corporate office data transfer,
Internet access and other wide area networking activities.
