CHARLOTTE, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- McDonnell Douglas Corporation (NYSE: MD) has awarded Alydaar Software Corporation (OTC-Bulletin Board: ALYD) a contract for Year 2000 services at multiple operating divisions within McDonnell Douglas. During this pilot program, McDonnell Douglas will provide various programs comprised of different software languages to Alydaar. Alydaar will use its SmartCode(TM) technology process to remediate the programs to make them Year 2000 compliant.

The Year 2000 problem arises from computer programs written in the 1970s and 1980s that read only the last two digits in the year. The 00 reading for 2000 would cause an error in some programs or could be interpreted as 1900. The estimated world-wide market to repair the Year 2000 problem is estimated to be $600 billion.

Alydaar's CEO, Robert Gruder, stated, "I am quite pleased McDonnell Douglas has chosen Alydaar, its personnel, and its SmartCode technology to assist them with their Year 2000 efforts. I expect a timely and successful completion of the pilots and hope to establish a strong partnership with McDonnell Douglas to further assist on Year 2000 remediations."

Dave Bell, McDonnell Douglas' Year 2000 Project Director, noted, "We have reviewed the SmartCode technology and Alydaar's methodology and we believe their remediation process can assist McDonnell Douglas with its Year 2000 project. SmartCode, which is automated and language and platform independent, appears to have the necessary ingredients for a successful Year 2000 remediation pilot."

Alydaar Software Corporation is a software reengineering company, specializing in providing services to resolve the Year 2000 problems, as well as computer language translation and systems migration services. Using SmartCode(TM), their core reengineering technology, Alydaar can automatically correct millions of lines of code per month at their Charlotte, NC code remediation factory. Alydaar has offices throughout North America and Europe.

MD, through its subsidiaries, operates in four segments: military aircraft; missiles, space, and electronic systems; commercial aircraft; and financial and other services.
