Remeber Adolf Hitler was a charismatic Austrian-born demagogue ( in other words, he gained power through impassioned public appeals to the emotions and prejudices of a group by speaking or writing ... Impression Mamnagement or brainwashing) who rose to power in Germany during the 1920s and early 1930s at a time of social, political, and economic turmoil. Failing to take power by force in 1923, he eventually won power by democratic means. Once in power, he eliminated all opposition and launched an ambitious program of world domination and elimination of the Jews. He lasted what maybe 12 years and he died a broken and defeated man.
As far as being an enviromentalist the most notorious environmentalists in history were the German Nazis. The Nazis ordered soldiers to plant more trees. They were the first Europeans to establish nature reserves and order the protection of hedgerows and other wildlife habitats. And they were horrified at the idea of hydroelectric dams on the Rhine. Adolf Hitler and other leading Nazis were vegetarian thus they were anti-pesticide and they passed numerous laws on animal rights.
They had essentially a biological view of society. Nazis regarded society as an organism to which you were rooted through blood ties, They also felt much more comfortable with what they perceived to be natural than what were the products of human creativity. I think that's one of the reasons why Hitler had this celebration of the animal kingdom, the celebration of wildlife.
I believe it was Goering who made ferocious blood curdling speeches saying that people who were cruel to animals, including scientists who did research on them, would be put in concentration camps. Thus this was perversely part of the logic which could at the same time put Jews (considered animals) into concentration camps, on whom they experimented.
As far as planned parenthood Hilter felt and demanded that defective people be prevented from propagating equally defective offspring. Remeber superior race concept. But anyway here is an interesting quote:
Margaret Sanger - Founder of Planned Parenthood "...we prefer the policy of immediate sterilizarion, of making sure that parenthood is 'absolutely prohibed' to the feeble-minded."
Can you see like Adolf Hitler, Margaret Sanger considered herself to be part of a genetically superior elite who had to protect themselves against "hereditary taints." In other words, she set out to start a "New Race" - "A Race of Thoroughbreds."
Futher if I may The founders of Planned Parenthood had more ties to Hitler than just a shared vision. Their board of directors included avowed Nazi supporters like Dr. Lothrop Stoddard (who authored The Rising Tide of Color Against White Supremacy and another praising the Nazi sterilization law). They used their official publication to spread Nazi propaganda. In April of 1933, Birth Control Review published an article by Dr. Ernst Rubin, who was Hitler's director of genetic sterilization and a founder of the Nazi Society for Racial Hygiene. In this article Dr. Rubin wrote:
"The danger to the community of the unsegregated feeble-minded woman is more evident. Most dangerous are the middle and high grades living at large who, despite the fact that their defect is not easily recognizable, should nevertheless be prevented from procreation. . . In my view we should act without delay."
As I just posted it is not the issues but the left versus right and the issues are not focused on.
