Vix wasn't at an all time high. It was 60 in 1998 and over 170 in 1987.

You can't use bull market comparisons to a bear market. Still.... we're near a bounce cuz nothing goes straight down.

We were headed down already. That is a fact. The wtc just accelerated the downside move both in stock prices and earnings.

Still.... when the babies are get thrown out with the bathwater, it's a good time to see which ones can swim. This downdraft in earnings is probably going to put some companies that were barely hanging on out of biz totally never to return. And when we see growth again, what will happen when there are less competitors and fewer stocks to buy?

Betting on the end of the world isn't a good bet because it only happens once.
